Dahong Palay and Talibong

Dahong Palay Blade: 21.25" / Overall: 27.75", Talibong: Blade: 19.50" / Overall: 26", The Talibong or Talibon is a sword that has an overstated belly and was commonly used by the ladies in the northern Philippines during the later part of the Spanish era and the early American regime. The Talibong was used as a hunting tool but during the Spanish era, this was carried by warriors to defend themselves. Its handle, at present, was modified for easy grip and for protection to fingers during encounter. The Dahong Palay, literally "rice leaf" in Tagalog, is a single-edged sword from the Philippines, specifically the Southern Tagalog provinces of Batangas and Mindoro Source: http://en.wikipilipinas.org/index.php/Talibong http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dahong_palay
